Cave Maurice Zufferey - Sierre

Not far from the Château Mercier in Sierre, the Maurice Zufferey winery is a real benchmark for the promotion of Valais’ indigenous grape varieties.

The winery was established in 1982 by Maurice Zufferey on the foundations of the business created by Charles Caloz (c. 1970); today it grows around 9 hectares of vines, ideally situated on the slopes of Sierre, Venthône and Veyras.

The Maurice Zufferey winery combines the legitimacy of the grape varieties with high-calibre wine-making to produce extremely high-quality wines

Charles Caloz was one of the trailblazing artisans involved in the revival of Cornalin in Valais. Cave Maurice Zufferey has continued his legacy by increasing the areas given over to Cornalin and planting other native varieties such as Petite Arvine and Humagne rouge. Indeed, the winery is a perfect illustration of this passion for authentic Valais grape varieties.
